The key to our success lies is the combination of two basic factors every day: innovation and ideas
TECHNOLOGIES
Our CO2 and fibre laser cutting systems, for tubes and sections, are equipped to handle materials in an array of shapes and sizes to the highest standard, without any compromise in terms of geometry or quality of the cutting process.
We offer laser cutting services using cutting-edge LT7, LT8.10, LT12 and LT24 systems. With both CO2 and fibre laser cutting capabilities, we can choose the technology best suited to the job at hand and, above all, to the type of material in question.
With fibre laser cutting, we can cut materials like stainless steel, copper and brass, along with aluminium alloys of any kind and, above all, can get the job done with very high cutting speeds.
CO2 laser cutting is a great alternative that often represents the best option, especially when dealing with thicker carbon steel tubes, cut with oxygen, as well as materials that have oxidized or have surface scale.

Automatic drilling for superior added value
If tapped holes need to be drilled following laser cutting, instead of repositioning workpieces on another machine (for example, a radial arm drill or drill press) — with all the ensuing opportunities for error and inevitable time wasting — STL has a fully automatic radial drilling unit that can handle sizes up to M16.
3D cutting: for added benefits, especially when it comes to welding
The cutting head can work both perpendicular and at an angle to the surface of the tube. We employ the latter method — so-called 3D cutting — to produce bevels with or without a root face, which is a great advantage when dealing with parts that are due to be welded. A high degree of geometric precision is already inherent in the laser cutting process so the surfaces to be welded do not require any grinding.
High-performance LT7 fibre laser system for handling tubes and sections with 3D cutting head; this solution is ideal for round, square and rectangular tubes, special and open sections, carbon steel and “premium” materials like stainless steel, copper and aluminium.
No matter what kind of tube we are dealing with, the cutting process always delivers the best possible results in terms of both productivity and reliability. Intermediate supports featuring specific shapes that automatically adjust to suit the tube due to be cut mean that there is additional guiding and containment at the sides when processing light and flexible tubes, resulting in effective handling during fast and sudden rotation.
Heavy and rigid tubes, on the other hand, are entirely free to slide over the steel rollers, which compensate for any distortion in the tubing.
The mechanical rigidity of the whole system means we can maintain high acceleration under all conditions, without compromising processing accuracy in any way.
The latest generation CNC system interfaces in real time with the conditions of the workpiece, taking into account the bar’s straightness, torsion and thickness, as well as the type of metal.

LT8.10 laser system for handling tubes and sections with 3D cutting head; this solution is ideal for round, square and rectangular tubes, as well as special and open sections made from carbon and stainless steel. Ideal for processing tubes with small and medium cross-sections up to 12500 mm long.
Cutting-edge support devices on the workpiece feed and unloading line help the tube through the machine at all times, reducing axial deformation in tubes and helping maintain processing accuracy.
For misshapen tubes and/or tubes that are not easy to “guide” mechanically due to their considerable thickness, additional error compensation and measuring solutions are available.
LT8.10 is an automatic system that is not just designed to handle tubes, but is also suitable for processing standard and non-standard open sections, even where surface quality is poor.

Add holes and threads to your parts without moving them to another
plant or department.
STL creates the finished piece in a single phase, avoiding intermediate movements, waiting times, and possible replacement errors.
To produce large batches quickly, the bars are loaded one after the other without interruptions.
If you have to deal with small batches and frequent production changes, the LT8.20 will configure itself automatically, in order to maintain continuous production without slowdowns.
Consistent performance across the entire working range from 12 mm to 240 mm section, regardless of the complexity of the piece and cutting path.
With any material and thickness, with closed or open profiles, 2D or 3D cutting possibility, up to max. 45°.

LT12 is a tube and section laser cutting system offering impressive cutting performance across a broad range of diameters and cross-sections, featuring a fibre optic source, which allows it to handle simple metals like carbon steel, as well as galvanized materials, in addition to more premium and reflective metals, including stainless steel, aluminium, copper and brass.
In its standard configuration, the LT12 has a tilt axis (± 45°) designed for 3D cutting that is not at a right angle to the tube surface (bevel). This 3D profiling is a useful option on thicker tubes.
The system is equipped with a chain loader for tubes up to 12.5 meters in length, and a discharge system, also up to 12.5 meters, with a dedicated conveyor for short pieces.
The LT12 features the innovative “Drill & Tap” system, which allows laser cutting, drilling, and tapping of holes to be performed within the same machine.

Laser cutting applied to the processing of thicker and oversize tubes and open sections.
LT24 can also handle the drilling and subsequent tapping of holes with threads from M3 to M16, with the whole process handled fully automatically. 3D profiling of tubes and sections up to 18,000 mm long.
With its built-in accuracy, the laser carries out the required work to the required tolerances, meaning there is no need for subsequent adjustment using abrasive tools.
The heat-affected zones near the cut edges, which are thus already prepped for welding, in no way affect the mechanical properties of the processed parts.
A single laser cutting operation can thus replace “n” traditional processes.
The cutting head can work both perpendicular and at an angle to the tube surface. The latter method — so-called 3D cutting or bevel cutting — is used to produce bevels with or without a root face, which is a great advantage when dealing with parts that need to be welded.
Throughout the process (loading, cutting and unloading), the bars and sections loaded into the machine are constantly supported as they are transferred from one surface to another. This limits any deformation and, above all, ensures that the cut part gets to its destination without being suddenly dropped, which could compromise its integrity and/or damage the part in question. Larger and thicker tubes traditionally feature some degree of static deformation or misshapen profiles as a result of the original production process. A RENISHAW probe measures the profile, detects centring and torsion errors and allows the machine to compensate and adjust cutting trajectories on the fly to achieve accurate geometries per the relevant drawings and programs.
